Actually yes. But that's only because the book is complete and I just finished all the polishing/editing for submission to agents. Meaning, the early chapters have been slightly rewritten (mostly for "tense" consistency.) To answer your actual question, though: like my earlier books, but epitomized by this one, while writing I had almost zero idea where it was going. Almost every chapter surprised me with a twist I hadn't seen coming. The characters were in complete control, and I trusted my muses for the rest. That is, I always knew when I had something wrong, though I didn't always know what was right ... and I just had to wait for it. Sorry to give such a long answer, but the entire creative process is the most interesting thing in the world to me.
