An Astrology Apology
And No, I’m Not Sorry
Apologist: A person who offers an argument in defense of something controversial. ~ Oxford Languages
First, I must mention a beautiful symmetry here.
At 27 I was gifted a brief (4 page) personal natal chart delineation, something I didn’t even know existed.
At 72, I’m explaining it to you.
No, not really. I’m not here to argue the defense of Astrological study. I’m here to tell you why I think it works.
That brief exegesis given to me when so young irrevocably pulled me into a lifetime study of Astrology. In those intervening non-symmetrical years, in-depth study convinced me that it works.
Some great thinkers also thought so.
Carl G. Jung, in an overview of its deeper knowledge: “We have the qualities of the year and of the season of which we are born.”
Sir Isaac Newton, in its defense: “I have studied these things — you have not.”
I’m humbled, not humiliated, by such company.
But I’m afraid this is where I part company with contemporary believers, advocators, and fortune-telling prevaricators. Is that harsh? Oh well.
