As always, your story is beautiful, beautifully written, and a beautiful life lesson. One doesn't have to be paranoid to interpret those "looks." Not the same thing, but since my father was a dwarf, the looks were much more overt during our public outings. Often accompanied by pointing, laughter, and even sneers. I wish younger folks could understand that receiving such looks from others is not in any way a condemnation of themselves, but only of the ones giving the looks. Your beautiful story demonstrates by example the perfect way to handle such disrespect from others. Well done!
