And Why I Just Had To!
It’s not that easy; to do it, to look back. — Mary Louisa Cappelli
Certainly not, especially if the subtitle of this piece is any indication.
But I must share it too, as such can be too traumatic for some.
The day my daughter vanished
So now you’re warned.
This is a serious piece.
And I haven’t mentioned how things get actually worse.
So, why would I lead you into such a tough read?
Because this is a lovely, glorious, heartrending, and heartwarming story.
Because the memories evoked fill you with such love and longing, and such a vivid sense of presence, you’ll have to shake yourself awake at the end.
With economy of style, the author paints with perfect strokes the portraits of her daughters, both of them, until you’re almost sure they’re your own.
Poignant, moving, loving, sad.
Why do I keep foreshadowing?
Because I feel a little guilty.
Knowing that when you finish, you won’t be quite the same.
And with that, I urge you on.
