I shouldn't have worried. I saw the title of your piece and thought, Uh-oh, we're going to think differently on this one. (Which is certainly okay, of course - just a little surprising.) But no, the way you explained it, I felt exactly the same way. The jury is out (or rather, still in session) on Elon. I distrust him for precisely the same reasons you do, and I admire him for precisely the reasons you give. Having only information available through mass media doesn't help with that assessment. His actions on Twitter, however, are extremely dismaying.
