Imagine my surprise. I read one story, then two, and both were perfect for the only open publication I own on Medium.
Imagine my further surprise when Ms. Martin submitted first one story, then another, and still another to my fledgling periodical.
That is how the best communities form on Medium. Not through massive pamphleteering, mechanical tit-for-tat engagement, and especially not for follows paid by follows.
Medium can overwhelm the avid writer/reader with an avalanche of assumptive obligations. It overloads your inbox. My reading becomes ever more selective. Those who read my stuff do the same. Referrals should be welcome, and this is one of mine.
