That is really a great question. Almost like the one among photographers regarding covert street photography. And I certainly don't have a definitive answer. I do know this: 1) People love to hear about famous name encounters, and 2) So far the most effective way to avoid the name-dropping accusation is to offer a disclaimer up front ... just like you did in this article. I have met almost no famous people, but I was so incredibly proud when Andy Garcia read my Real People of Cuba and offered his appreciative compliments ... well, yes, I HAD to share that. No way that wasn't name dropping. But no way I wasn't going to. Sometimes we just do what we do, and accept whatever consequence come our way. For my part, I loved hearing about your encounter with a celebrity, and I wouldn't mind hearing many more.
