The only volunteer work I ever did was in Alaska, at the Pioneer's Home (an old folks place.) Serving ice cream, no less. I was stunned when the 90 year old lady in the wheelchair firmly grabbed my butt. Not sure if that's why I've not done more, but it's something I consider. Nice piece. Your article, I mean.
