Wonderful article. And it immediately brings to mind an observation made by an author my nephew turned me onto. Giving me one of those "AHA" moments. He said, perhaps the worst instinctive trait in Man is the overwhelming need to feel "separate and superior." It's the reason we form tribes, and groups, and nations ... where the "other" is always the enemy to be vanquished. Even in a civilized culture, we act out this same inclination. And if I ever thought the trait was not in me, and strongly so, all I have to do is think of Trump. At that moment, I just KNOW I am separate and superior. And, as the point of your article shows, such is the very thing we must work on to be better people.
